Politzer, for research into and development of a bioelectric system
From 31.06 to 03.07 in the city of Niigata, Japan, was held The 30th traditional meeting of the Politzer Society and the first World Congress of Otology.
The conference was attended by more than 700 participants from over 50 countries, reporting the latest advances in otolaryngology and otiatrics.
A. Bobrov presented Ukraine's paper, describing joint research by a team of authors on the use of an implantable closed-loop bioelectric system to restore blinking in unilateral facial nerve palsy.
The device was developed in close collaboration between clinicians, scientists and engineers:
- concept, experimental and clinical evaluation - Kolomiichenko Institute of Otolaryngology, Department of Ear Microsurgery and Otoneurosurgery, A. Bobrov PhD, O. Borysenko MD
- design and engineering by the research and production company VEL, a team led by S. Shoferystov.
- algorithm and device software - Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics: A. Popov PhD, Ye. Karpliuk PhD, O. Bodylovskyi and O. Panichev, postgraduate researchers
