ВБИ

Inductive proximity switch

Purpose:

  • Acts as a feedback sensor, signalling that a piece of equipment has completed a movement command.
  • Used in machine tools, automated lines and equipment with automation components.

Distinctive features:

  • The inductive proximity switch (or position sensor, hereafter the sensor) is actuated by an external metal element, such as a steel plate, without mechanical contact between the sensor and the object.
  • The load is switched by a semiconductor device.
  • When an object enters the sensor's sensing zone it triggers the sensor, and the sensor's switching element then carries the load current (up to 500 mA).
  • Wide supply voltage range.
  • The sensor can drive a controller input, an electronic circuit, or a relay or contactor coil directly.
  • The sensor design provides galvanic isolation between the housing and the circuit components and withstands up to 2000 V.
  • The sensor's on state is indicated by an LED.
  • For operation in harsh conditions the sensor is built into a brass housing and sealed with compound.
  • The sensor complies with ДСТУ ГОСТ 26430.
  • Fits a 14.5 mm hole and is secured with nuts.
  • The sensing distance may be shorter with targets made of other metals. The following correction factors (relative to tool steel) can be used for preliminary calculations:
    -stainless steel 0.8
    -nichrome 0.9
    -brass, aluminium 0.5
    -copper 0.48
